MY APPROACH to Therapy

My style of therapy can best be decribed in 3 words: Laid Back, Real, Non-Judgmental.

Just as the three words above encapsulate my philosophy, my approach to therapy is intentionally designed to create an environment where you feel at ease, facilitating the unwinding process and encouraging open discussion about the challenges you're facing in life. Acknowledging the need for therapy can indeed be a daunting step, and the initial session may be fraught with anxiety and nerves. Therefore, it's paramount to me that your experience is characterized by a sense of safety and comfort, laying the foundation for meaningful therapeutic progress.

In this secure space, you're invited to be authentically vulnerable, free from any fear of judgment, guilt, or shame. It's within this atmosphere of trust and understanding that true healing and growth can flourish.

My journey toward becoming a therapist has been a winding path filled with unexpected challenges and setbacks.

Yet, I've turned these obstacles into opportunities to empower those who may feel marginalized or overlooked. Witnessing the blossoming of Black boy joy in spaces historically considered inaccessible fills me with immense satisfaction.

My personal mission is to cultivate a community of healing where Black men can shatter stigma and access the support they need to thrive. By breaking down barriers to mental health care, I aim to pave the way for future generations, sparing them the battles against stigma that we've faced.

Specializing in serving Black boys and men aged 14 and above, I've noticed a common thread among my clients: experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma. Interestingly, these diagnoses often intertwine, highlighting the complex and interconnected nature of mental health challenges within our community.

I believe in:

Holding space for those who may not be able to hold it themselves. Community is what drives me!

I value:

Honesty and Autheticity! Be You NO MATTER WHAT!

I’m not about:

ANY type of ISM! RACISM, SEXISM, ABLEISM, ETC. NONE of it has any room here

In my free time, you can find me:

Watching netflix or reading a good book. You may also find me in the gym at odd hours of the morning (4 am’r)

Daily ritual:

I pray, I meditate, and I work out.

how i can support you
